Sabalenka Dominates; Medvedev Frustrated in Cincinnati Open

Aryna Sabalenka, the world number one, reached the fourth round of the Cincinnati Open in just 54 minutes, defeating China's Wang Xinyu with a score of 6-1, 6-3. Sabalenka did not face a break point and had an impressive performance, committing only five unforced errors while hitting 17 winners.

She expressed her satisfaction with the quick win, stating, “To get this win in under an hour [is] an insane result and I’m so happy to be through.” Sabalenka, a two-time defending champion at the US Open, is facing potential competition for her number one ranking from Elena Rybakina. Rybakina must reach the final in Cincinnati to have a chance to surpass Sabalenka.

In contrast, fourth seed Daniil Medvedev experienced a frustrating defeat against Brandon Nakashima, losing after failing to convert three match points. Medvedev's final score was 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-4), 6-1, during which he committed 51 unforced errors.
