Aryna Sabalenka Advances to US Open Final with Win

Aryna Sabalenka, the world No. 1, secured her place in the US Open final by defeating American third seed Jessica Pegula with a score of 7-5, 6-2 during the semi-final match held on Thursday at Arthur Ashe Stadium. This victory puts Sabalenka one win away from achieving her third consecutive US Open title, a feat only accomplished by Chris Evert and Serena Williams.

The match featured a tightly contested first set, where Sabalenka broke Pegula at a crucial moment, converting her second set point. In the second set, Sabalenka continued her dominance, breaking Pegula's serve again and finishing the match with a powerful forehand at 119 mph.

She recorded seven aces and 29 winners throughout the match. Sabalenka will face either second seed Elena Rybakina or fourth seed Coco Gauff in the final, although she will relinquish her world No. 1 ranking to Rybakina regardless of the outcome.
