Tension at Abuja Polling Unit Due to Suspected Thugs

Tension was palpable at Polling Unit 141 located at LEA Primary School Karamajiji in Gwarinpa, Abuja, on a Saturday when suspected political thugs were reported loitering around the polling premises. The electoral officials struggled to commence voting as election materials reportedly arrived at 9:03 AM, with accreditation and verification beginning around 10:10 AM.

Voters, who arrived at the scheduled start time, expressed anxiety and concern over the delay and the presence of unfamiliar faces, which heightened the tension among them. Despite the deployment of security operatives in the area, voters reported feeling uneasy due to the suspected thugs, who were believed to be party agents standing within and around the polling unit.

This created an apprehensive atmosphere among the electorate, who feared possible disruptions to the electoral process. Voters remained hopeful that the voting process would proceed peacefully despite the tense environment.
