Tension in Kano as Deputy Governor Skips Council Meeting

Tension is rising in Kano State following the absence of Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo from the 38th executive council meeting held at the government house, amidst ongoing impeachment moves against him. The meeting, presided over by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, saw attendance from state executive council members, but Gwarzo's absence has raised concerns about the political crisis within the state government.

During the meeting, Governor Yusuf issued a strong warning against acts of disloyalty and internal rivalry, stressing that such conduct would no longer be tolerated. Gwarzo has already submitted a formal letter to the Kano State House of Assembly to respond to allegations of misconduct and fund diversion meant for local government areas.

His failure to attend the council meeting has not been officially explained. Additionally, Governor Yusuf confirmed that five commissioners have resigned from their positions due to political shifts, affecting various ministries, including humanitarian affairs and youth sports.
