Arokodare Shines with Two Goals in Ajax's 6-1 Victory
Tolu Arokodare, the Super Eagles forward on a season-long loan at Ajax, scored two goals and provided an assist in Ajax's 6-1 victory over FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Conference League. Arokodare opened the scoring by heading in a corner from Oscar Gloukh, marking his fourth goal in four games.
Despite Friday Etim equalizing for Midtjylland in the 28th minute, Arokodare restored Ajax's lead shortly before halftime with a powerful shot after receiving a pass from Abdellah Ouazane. He later assisted Owen Wijndal, who scored Ajax's third goal.
Ajax continued to dominate, with Klaassen and Gloukh adding further goals, concluding a strong second-half performance. This match marked Ajax's second consecutive win in the UEFA Conference League, and they have only lost once on the road since March.
The defeat continued a trend of Danish teams struggling against Dutch opponents in major European competitions.
