Tinubu Inducts Five Helicopters into Nigerian Air Force

On 29 October 2026, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially inducted five newly acquired helicopters into the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) inventory at the Presidential Air Fleet hangars. The aircraft included two Airbus H-125 helicopters and three Augusta 109 Trekker helicopters, which were delivered in September 2026.
The induction ceremony was attended by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, along with other service chiefs. Although President Tinubu did not address the press present at the event, he proceeded to depart for Saudi Arabia for Umra.
Air Marshal Sunday Aneke stated that the AW109 Trekker helicopters would enhance capabilities in intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, close air support, armed reconnaissance, and combat search and rescue. The H125 helicopters are expected to improve rotary-wing availability and provide greater flexibility for commanders across operational theatres.
