Terrorists Burn Church and Police Station in Niger State Attack

Terrorists launched a violent attack in Niger State, burning down a church and a police station in Agwarra, killing one person, and abducting five others. The assailants set fire to the church and later moved to Sokonba village, bordering Kabe community, where they killed an elderly woman and abducted five individuals.

The repeated attacks in the region have led to fear and uncertainty among residents, forcing many to abandon their homes and farms. The lack of a permanent military presence in Agwarra has left the community vulnerable to criminal activities, worsening the humanitarian and economic situation.

Local leaders, including Catholic Bishop Bulu Yohanna, have urged the Nigerian government to establish a permanent military formation in Agwarra to enhance security and enable displaced persons to return home safely. The spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the recent attack, highlighting the urgent need for security reinforcement in the area.
