Terrorist Attacks Surge in Niger, Kwara, and Plateau States

A fresh wave of terrorist violence has gripped Niger, Kwara, and Plateau states, leading to significant fear among communities. In Niger State's Shiroro Local Government Area, suspected terrorists killed at least five people, burned multiple homes, and abducted several residents.

In a separate incident in Kwara State, terrorists attacked Nuku community in Kaiama Local Government Area, resulting in the deaths of five forest guards who were trying to repel the assault. The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the attack, which involved a large group of heavily armed men.

Governor Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq condemned the killings, emphasizing the need for a strategic response to the growing threat of terrorism. He expressed condolences to the families of the fallen guards and highlighted the bravery of local security forces.

The governor has also formed a security strategy committee to address these escalating security concerns.
