Terrorists Kill Forest Guard Commander in Kwara Attack

On Friday, terrorists launched a coordinated attack on Nuku village in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including the Forest Guard Commander. The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the incident, which occurred around 3:45 AM, leading to significant damage, including the destruction of patrol vehicles and buildings in the community.

The attack caused panic among residents, prompting them to seek safety. Kwara State Governor Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq condemned the killings and praised the bravery of the Forest Guard for their efforts to repel the attackers.

He urged the military high command to adjust their strategies in the fight against terrorism. The governor also announced the formation of a Kwara State Security Strategy Committee, which includes retired military generals and security officials, to address security concerns in the state.

The incident underscores the ongoing threat posed by terrorists to local communities in Nigeria.
