TETFund Enhances Medical Training to Reduce Tourism

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), led by Executive Secretary Sonni Echono, is advocating for stronger medical training in Nigeria to significantly reduce medical tourism. During a visit from Air Marshal Sundai Anek, Chief of the Nigerian Air Force, Echono highlighted the federal government's efforts to enhance healthcare training and facilities across tertiary institutions.

He noted that TETFund's support would expand beyond medical faculties to include teaching hospitals, thereby improving clinical training and healthcare service quality. Echono emphasized the importance of building a healthcare system capable of meeting the country's medical needs, not just focusing on doctors but also on other healthcare providers.

Anek commended TETFund for its sustained interventions in tertiary education, particularly its support for the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology. He expressed appreciation for TETFund's role in enhancing the institute's ability to deliver quality education and training, which has contributed to national development.
