Destiny Trust Launches School Block in Lagos Riverine Area

Destiny Trust launched a new school block and digital learning space for children in the riverine communities of Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State. Co-founder Abimbola Ojenik stated that the project aims to expand educational access for children in hard-to-reach areas, addressing issues like teacher shortages, poor infrastructure, and lack of electricity.

The digital learning space is part of a broader effort to utilize technology to provide quality education in remote locations. The initiative includes multimedia learning devices pre-loaded with Nigerian basic education curriculum lessons, designed to support classroom teaching without the need for internet access.

Each digital learning space is powered by solar inverters to ensure functionality in areas without reliable electricity. The project is expected to enhance the capacity of local schools and improve the educational environment for children.

Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, chairman of Ibeju Lekki local government, and education supervisor Mr. Sodiq Agbaj commended the efforts of Destiny Trust in addressing educational challenges in the community.
