Nigeria Cup 2026: Celebrating Legacy in Golf Championship

The 29th edition of the Nigeria Cup, Nigeria’s oldest-running Independence Celebration Golf Championship, is scheduled to occur from September 19th to 27th, 2026, at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos. The event is organized by the Ikoyi Golf Community Nigeria Association (IGCNA) in collaboration with Ikoyi Club 1938.

Olorogun Mohammed Oyibo, Chairman of the Organising Committee, described this edition as a significant chapter in the Championship’s history, emphasizing the commitment to honor the legacy of the tournament while establishing new standards in competition and hospitality. Oyibo called for corporate sponsorship, highlighting that partners would be investing in a legacy that celebrates excellence and national pride.

The Championship will include a Watch Party and a Legacy Gala, enhancing the overall experience for participants and guests. Oyibo expressed gratitude to past supporters and invited new partners to join in preserving this enduring sporting tradition.
