Nigeria's Hosting Rights for 2026 AACT Remain Secure

The Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) has confirmed that Nigeria's hosting rights for the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) are secure, despite reported disagreements between the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) and the African Golf Confederation (AGC). The championship is set to take place from November 2 to 7, 2026, at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja, with LGAN leading the Local Organising Committee.

Dr. Lami Ahmed, LGAN President and Chairperson of the AACT 2026 Local Organising Committee, dismissed rumors that the disagreement could affect Nigeria's hosting rights as false and misleading. She clarified that the AACT is governed by the All Africa Challenge Trophy Association (AACTA), distinct from the AGC, which oversees men's golf.

Dr. Ahmed reassured stakeholders that preparations are on track and emphasized the event's alignment with the Federal Government's sports development agenda, led by the National Sports Commission's Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade.
