Kano Governor's Strategic Move Shifts Political Landscape Ahead of 2027 Elections

In a strategic move, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State orchestrated a significant political shift by returning the state to the ruling Progress Congress (APC) on January 26, 2026. This move saw the defection of 22 assembly members, nine federal lawmakers, and 44 local government chairmen to the APC, consolidating the party's stronghold in the state.
