TRCN Raises Alarm Over Unqualified Teachers Impacting Education Standards in Nigeria

The Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) expressed worries over the rise of unqualified teachers in the country, attributing it to the decline in education quality. Dr.

Ronke Soyombo, the CEO of TRCN, highlighted the lack of necessary qualifications among individuals teaching in schools, especially in private institutions. TRCN plans to expand its registered teachers from 1.4 million to 20 million in two years through a digital registration system.

The council aims to address the teacher shortage by enhancing collaboration, professionalism, and training programs.
