Tayo Faniran Exposes Rigging in Nollywood Film Industry

Tayo Faniran, a Nollywood actor, has alleged that the Nigerian movie industry is significantly affected by politics, favoritism, and rigging. In an interview on TVC eSplash, Faniran expressed his views on the challenges within the industry, stating that success is not solely based on talent.

He criticized the notion that the most recognized producers in Nollywood are the most talented, suggesting that if opportunities were allocated strictly based on talent, he would have achieved greater success. Faniran remarked, “In Nollywood, the film producers you guys see and know as the biggest are not the most talented film producers.

If Nollywood were strictly about talent, I should be far beyond where I am. There is a lot of rigging in the industry.”.
