JAMB Confirms No Extension for 2026 UTME Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially declared that there will be no extension for the registration deadline for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The registration will close at midnight on February 26, 2026.

Candidates are encouraged to complete their registration by this date to avoid missing the examination. JAMB announced that the sale of e-pins, which are mandatory for registration, will end two days later on February 28, 2026.

As of February 17, JAMB reported that 1.5 million candidates had successfully registered nationwide, although the board expressed concern over the number of eligible applicants who have yet to take advantage of the registration period. The registration centers across the country are operating at only 30 percent of their daily capacity, with the board stating that they can accommodate 100,000 candidates daily, which is significantly above the current turnout.

JAMB emphasized that the registration deadline is part of a national coordinated calendar and warned candidates to avoid procrastination as appeals will not be entertained once the deadline expires.
