Obi and Kwankwaso Form Alliance for 2027 Elections

Ibrahim Abdulkarim has announced that Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, have reached an agreement regarding a political alliance for the 2027 presidential election. Abdulkarim made this claim during an interview with Trust TV, stating that the Obi and Kwankwaso factions are aligning towards a joint ticket, with Kwankwaso potentially serving as Obi's deputy.

This development follows Kwankwaso's recent departure from the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), raising questions about the political dynamics between the two leaders. Yunusa Tanko, a spokesperson for the ADC, emphasized the importance of a southern candidate for the presidency in 2027, arguing that deviating from this arrangement could jeopardize electoral chances.

He also urged Nigerians to assess the political landscape and public opinion as parties begin strategizing for the upcoming election.
