“They hear gunshots but won’t act” – Benue lawmaker indicts security operatives over killings

Benue State House Assembly member Hon. Peter Uche has criticized security agencies for their failure to respond to ongoing attacks by bandits in the Guma constituency.

Despite the presence of security operatives, residents are being killed daily. Uche stated that three people were killed and six others severely injured on Monday alone.

He accused the security agencies of hearing gunshots but refusing to act, leaving constituents vulnerable and protesting. Uche called for an intensification of security efforts to protect lives and property, urging the military to improve response times to prevent further casualties.

He advised residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The lawmaker emphasized the need for swift action to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safety of the community.
