Tinubu Launches Four CNG Projects for Clean Transport

On Friday, President Bola Tinubu commissioned four major compressed natural gas (CNG) projects in Lagos, Abuja, and Owerri, marking the third anniversary of his administration. These projects are designed to significantly expand Nigeria's clean transport network and reduce transport costs following the removal of petroleum subsidies.

The initiatives include the establishment of a CNG mother station in Ojota, Lagos, with a daily dispensing capacity of 96,000 standard cubic meters, and additional CNG refueling stations across various locations in Lagos and Abuja. The projects aim to support the transition to cleaner fuel and enhance domestic gas utilization.

The fourth project, located at the Federal University of Technology in Owerri, will serve as a conversion center for vehicles and tricycles, integrating a refueling unit and training facilities. Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria would develop its gas resources independently, aiming for a sustainable energy future without borrowing.
