Wike Defends Loan Allegations Against Senator Kingibe

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, addressed allegations made by Senator Ireti Kingibe, who claimed he obtained loans for capital projects without the National Assembly's approval. Speaking in Abuja, Wike dismissed Kingibe's claims, stating that she lacks understanding of legislative and public finance processes.

He emphasized that any loan must be included in the budget, questioning how a government official could bypass the legislature for such actions. Wike asserted that Kingibe's tenure in the National Assembly is nearing its end, as residents are aligning their support with President Bola Tinubu and Philip Aduda, who has represented the FCT in previous Senate terms.

He accused Kingibe of confusion over the ongoing infrastructure development in Abuja, suggesting her criticisms stem from her inability to acknowledge the progress made. Wike concluded that Kingibe's political relevance is diminishing as the public has made their choice.
