Saraki Condemns Oyo Abductions, Urges Urgent Action

Bukola Saraki, the former Governor of Kwara State and former Senate President, reacted to the recent abductions in Oyo State, describing the incidents as heartbreaking. In a statement issued on Thursday, Saraki referenced an attack in Orir LGA where gunmen abducted a dozen students and seven teachers from the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) on May 15.

He also mentioned the murder of a teacher, Michael Oyedokun, whose video plea for help circulated online before his reported death, along with two staff members from CRIN who were abducted by armed men on May 19. Saraki expressed condolences to the families affected by these tragic events and emphasized the need for security agencies to deploy all available resources to rescue the captives and bring the perpetrators to justice.

He called for urgent action from the federal government and security agencies to address the situation.
