Obi Critiques Tinubu's Leadership Amid Economic Hardship

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate, expressed his concerns regarding the economic situation in Nigeria during an interview with Chude Jideonwo. He stated that since Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed the presidency in 2023, many business owners have been reduced to selling kuli-kuli to survive due to the harsh economic conditions.

Obi argued that the current administration has failed to improve the situation, with poverty and insecurity deepening, and over 87 million Nigerians living in poverty today. He criticized Tinubu's "Renewed Hope" agenda, claiming that the country has regressed under his leadership.

Obi also defended his relationship with former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, emphasizing the need for genuine concern for the poor. He highlighted the importance of investing in human capital development over physical infrastructure for national growth, citing examples from countries like China and Malaysia.
