Siblings Kidnapped by New Tenant in Ebonyi State

On Saturday, three siblings, identified as Favour Okeoha, Obinna Okeoha, and Kamso Okeoha, were kidnapped in Ebonyi State by a new tenant who had recently moved into the area. The kidnapping occurred when the children's parents were not at home, causing shock among local residents.

The suspect, a young lady who had rented an apartment on Thursday, was reported to have deceived others in the compound, painting messages of love on the walls. Joshua Ukandu, the spokesman for the Ebonyi State Police Command, confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.

This incident is not isolated, as there have been previous kidnappings in the region, including a notable case in February 2026 involving the abduction of three children near Nkwegu military cantonment. Additionally, Chief Francis Igw, a former deputy governor, was kidnapped on a Sunday morning while driving to church, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the area.
