Timi Frank Commends Catholic Bishops for Speaking Truth

Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary, commended the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) for their boldness in confronting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding the poor state of the economy and the dangers of a one-party state. In a statement made on Sunday in Abuja, Frank praised the bishops for their courage in delivering what he termed the "bitter truth" to the President.

He called on other religious leaders, both Christian and Muslim, to emulate this example by demanding accountability from the government. Frank criticized some religious leaders, particularly from the Pentecostal community, for failing to speak truthfully to the government after visiting the Presidential Villa.

He accused the Tinubu administration of exacerbating issues such as corruption, insecurity, poverty, and unemployment, while also alleging attempts to manipulate the 2027 elections. Frank urged the President to respect democratic institutions and conduct free and fair elections, emphasizing the need for truthful dialogue from religious leaders.
