Tinubu Appoints Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Foreign Affairs Minister

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister, succeeding Yusuf Tuggar, who resigned to participate in the 2027 elections. Tinubu's spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, announced the appointment, emphasizing it as part of ongoing efforts to enhance Nigeria's foreign policy architecture for greater efficiency and stronger global partnerships.

Additionally, Sola Enikanolaiy has been nominated as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, pending Senate confirmation. Enikanolaiy, who hails from Kogi State, has served as a senior special assistant to the president on foreign affairs and international relations and is recognized as a distinguished diplomat with over three decades of exemplary service in Nigeria's foreign service.

His previous roles include serving as a permanent secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and holding diplomatic posts in various countries, including Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London, and New Delhi. President Tinubu congratulated the appointees and urged them to work diligently to promote Nigeria's national interests and advance economic diplomacy.
