Bola Tinubu Appoints Ismail Yusuf as NAHCON Chairman, Seeks Senate Confirmation

Bola Tinubu, a prominent Nigerian politician, has nominated former Türkiye Ambassador Ismail Yusuf as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). This nomination is subject to confirmation by the Senate, as per the NAHCON Act of 2006.

Yusuf's nomination comes after the resignation of Prof. Abdullahi Usman from the position.

Tinubu wrote to the Senate President, Godswil Akpabio, urging a swift confirmation of Yusuf's appointment. Ismail Yusuf, a career diplomat, served as Nigeria's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Türkiye from 2021 to 2024.
