Tinubu Appoints New Acting Vice Chancellor For UniAbuja

Professor Mathew Adamu has been appointed as the new Acting Vice Chancellor for the University of Abuja. The appointment was communicated in a statement by the Acting Registrar and Secretary of the Council.

Adamu will take over from Patricia Manko Lar and serve in this capacity until February 2025. He is a renowned veterinary scholar with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a PhD in Veterinary Surgery.

Adamu has a rich career in teaching, research, and extension services, with over 20 years of experience as a registered veterinarian. He has supervised numerous postgraduate students and has published extensively in scholarly journals.

Adamu's appointment is seen as a purposeful leadership move, given his previous roles in academia and governance positions. His research output and academic collaborations have been recognized both locally and internationally.
