Tinubu Approves 65 Ambassadors for Global Representation

On Friday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the diplomatic postings for 65 Nigerian ambassadors to various countries around the world, as disclosed by the United Nations. The appointments include 34 non-career ambassadors, who are former politicians and public figures, and 31 career diplomats.

This decision follows the confirmation of the ambassadorial designations by the Senate last December. The intent behind these appointments is to strengthen Nigeria's foreign relations and ensure that Nigerian interests are effectively represented across the globe.

The new ambassadorial postings mark a significant step in consolidating Nigeria's diplomatic outreach, with a total of 34 career ambassadors and 30 non-career ambassadors appointed, aiming for effective representation in critical international posts by 2025.
