Tinubu Approves Recruitment of 1,000 Plateau Youths as Forest Guards to Tackle Insecurity

Former Lagos State Governor and APC Chieftain, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has authorized the recruitment of 1,000 youths in Plateau State as forest guards to combat the long-standing insecurity issues in the area. Vice President Kashim Shettima disclosed this during a meeting with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

The move is part of a broader strategy to address the violent conflicts between farmers and herders that have plagued the state for over two decades, resulting in the deaths of over 11,000 people. The forest guard recruitment is one of several measures being implemented by Tinubu's administration to restore peace and deliver the dividends of democracy in Plateau State.

Additionally, Shettima announced plans to commence the construction of the critical Akwanga-Jos Road and host the flag-off of the federal government's livestock development project in the state, aimed at promoting peace, security, and economic growth.
