Tinubu Launches Social Action Task Force for 8,804 Wards

President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of a Social Action Task Force to strengthen grassroots development and accelerate socio-economic projects across Nigeria's 8,804 wards. This initiative was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday night in Abuja by Mr.

Ado Bako, Assistant Director of Information at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The task force is designed to promote community-driven interventions tailored to the specific needs of local areas.

The wards will partner with verified community-based organizations to execute prioritized development projects. The project implementation timeline is set to begin on March 1, 2024, with a completion target of December 2024.

A dedicated program management unit will be housed within a sector-wide approach coordinated by the Ministry, ensuring compliance. Additionally, the Federal Ministry of Finance will release N17 billion dedicated to this intervention fund, which will support the implementation and monitoring of community accounts.
