Tinubu Assents to 72 Bills Passed by National Assembly

During a keynote address in Abuja, Speaker Tajudeen Abass disclosed that President Bola Tinubu has assented to 72 out of 373 bills passed by the National Assembly since the beginning of the 10th Assembly. This marks a significant achievement, with the 72 bills representing the highest number of laws enacted since 1999.

The Speaker expressed excitement over these legislative accomplishments, which include measures aimed at providing interest-free student loans to ensure no Nigerian student is turned away from educational opportunities. He emphasized the importance of reforms in the economy and governance, urging Nigerians to accept necessary changes for progress.

The National Assembly has received a total of 2,747 bills during the three-year review period. Abass also mentioned plans to hold sessions with civil society organizations to enhance oversight functions and address public concerns, including the passage of a state police bill to improve security.
