Tinubu Approves N156bn Road Contracts in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Controller of the Federal Ministry of Works, Dimas Tuwai, has dismissed claims of marginalization by the Tinubu administration regarding federal road project allocations. In an interview on Wednesday in Yola, Tuwai stated that President Bola Tinubu has approved several new road contracts and re-awarded previously abandoned projects in Adamawa State.

The approved projects include the rehabilitation of the Jimeta–Mayo-Belwa road valued at N83 billion, the Phase 2 rehabilitation of the Yola–Hong–Mubi road, and the Phase 2 of the Fufore–Gurin road at N15.246 billion. Tuwai also mentioned four new projects: Jamblamba–Malabu (85 km), Jada–Mbula–Ganye (44 km), Mayolini–Mayo-Belwa (40 km), and Toungo–Karanti (90 km).

He attributed past project abandonments to inadequate funding and assured that federal roads in Adamawa will be rehabilitated. Tuwai confirmed the completion of the first phase of the Yola–Fufore rehabilitation and noted that the Numan–Jalingo road is under review due to rising material costs.
