Tinubu Approves Nigeria to Host 2026 CAF Assembly

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, has approved the country's proposal to host the 48th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the CAF Awards. The assembly is set to take place in October this year.

This decision was announced during the ongoing Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, where Tinubu met with CAF President Patrick Motsepe. The event will bring together key figures in African football, including Nigeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, Nigeria Football Federation President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, and CAF officials such as Amaju Melvin Pinnick and Samson Adamu.

The CAF Awards are an annual event that celebrates the best performances in African football, characterized by an atmosphere of glitz and glamour.
