Tinubu Commissions 40,000 CBM LPG Vessel “MT Iyaloja (Lagos)” In South Korea

President Bola Tinubu recently commissioned the 40,000 cubic meter CBM Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carrier, MT Iyaloja Lagos, in Ulsan, South Korea. The vessel, owned by WAGL Energy Limited, a joint venture between NNPC Limited and Sahara Group, aims to enhance gas availability and affordability in Nigeria and across Africa.

The addition of MT Iyaloja Lagos to WAGL's LPG fleet increases the total capacity to 40,000 CBM. President Tinubu praised NNPC and Sahara Group for their foresight and technical expertise in expanding Africa's participation in the global clean energy value chain.

The ceremony, attended by dignitaries including Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Gas Ekperikpe Ekpo, highlighted the commitment to making LPG more accessible nationwide. WAGL plans to further expand its fleet in the next two years, with the vessel named in honor of late Alhaja Ab.
