Tinubu Commissions New Customs Complex in Ogun State

On Saturday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially commissioned the newly constructed Federal Operations Unit ‘A’ Complex of the Nigeria Customs Service in Iperu, Ogun State. This event represents a major milestone in the ongoing reform efforts of the service.

During the commissioning ceremony, Comptroller General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi emphasized the need for the expansion, driven by increased operational demands and limited space at the existing facility in Ikeja, Lagos. The new complex is equipped with modern amenities, including a warehouse directly opposite the facility, which will support operations at the nearby cargo airport.

Governor Dapo Abiodun was commended for his partnership in relocating the project, which was initiated by his predecessor, Col. Hame Ali (rtd).

The project, initially estimated at 73 billion Naira, has evolved due to economic realities, necessitating a review of the approved costs. The complex is expected to accommodate 142 buildings, including training colleges and a multipurpose hall.
