Tinubu Inaugurates New Airport and Customs Facility in Ogun

On a significant occasion, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated a newly completed airport and a Nigeria Customs Service facility in Ogun State. The airport, designed to accommodate full Airbus aircraft, is anticipated to boost agricultural export logistics within the state.

The Customs facility, located in Iperu, Ogun State, features a 73 billion Naira office complex and aims to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen institutional capacity. During the inauguration, Tinubu commended the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, for conceptualizing the facility, which was relocated from its former base in Ikeja, Lagos, to alleviate congestion and improve service delivery.

The president highlighted the airport as a landmark project that would connect Ogun State to major investment opportunities and reduce travel time to Abuja and Lagos. Governor Dapo Abiodun emphasized the state's commitment to infrastructure development, including the construction of 1,600 kilometers of roads and the introduction of 1,000 electric bikes for modern transportation.
