Tinubu Launches N73bn Customs Office in Ogun State

On Saturday, President Bola Tinubu inaugurated a N73 billion office complex for the Nigeria Customs Service in Iperu, Ogun State. The complex is designed to enhance operational efficiency and capacity within the service.

During the inauguration, Tinubu commended the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for conceptualizing the facility, which aims to alleviate congestion at the Ikeja facility in Lagos. Adeniyi noted that the new complex will strengthen the Customs' role in supporting emerging trade infrastructure, including export processes and cargo handling operations.

The facility is strategically located near an aviation hub and is equipped with modern operational infrastructure, including a furnished office complex and warehouse. The project, which is currently 45% complete, is expected to receive presidential approval for a cost revision to reflect current economic realities.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun provided 50 hectares of land for the development, acknowledging the contributions of his predecessors in securing the site.
