Tinubu Congratulates Adeleke on 2026 Election Victory

President Bola Tinubu congratulated Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, on his victory in the 2026 governorship election, as stated by Accord Party chieftain Pelumi Olajengbesi. Olajengbesi made this announcement at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Osogbo after Adeleke was declared the winner.

Tinubu reportedly called Adeleke to extend his congratulations and was commended for allowing the election to occur without interference. Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, defeating his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 444,815 votes, resulting in a winning margin of 66,252 votes.

This victory marks another term for Adeleke, reinforcing his political influence in the state. While Olajengbesi praised Tinubu for non-interference, he criticized certain aspects of the electoral process, describing the election as credible but not entirely free and fair due to reported violent incidents before and during the election.
