Tinubu Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Governorship Win

President Bola Tinubu congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election in the Osun State governorship election, which took place on August 15. Tinubu made this statement through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, after Adeleke's victory was announced.

Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, received 511,067 votes, defeating Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 444,815 votes. Adeleke won in 19 of the 30 local government areas in Osun State, while Oyebamiji won in 11.

The election was declared peaceful and transparent by Tinubu, who commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for their roles. Adeleke, who previously won the governorship in 2022 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, will serve a second term.

He expressed gratitude to Tinubu for his congratulatory call and endorsed him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
