Tinubu Congratulates Murtala Garo as Kano Deputy Governor

President Bola Tinubu congratulated Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo on his appointment as the new Deputy Governor of Kano State. This follows the swearing-in of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Tuesday.

Garo was nominated by Governor Yusuf to fill the vacant position created by the resignation of Aminu Abdulsalam, which occurred after Governor Yusuf's defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Murtala Garo, a 48-year-old politician, has served in various capacities, including as the Chairman of the Kabo Local Government Commission and in local government chieftaincy affairs under the previous administration of Dr.

Abdullahi Ganduje, who was the APC governorship candidate during the 2023 elections. President Tinubu commended Governor Yusuf for his appointment, emphasizing the need for unity within the APC ranks in Kano State.

He urged stakeholders to support the new Deputy Governor in his efforts to work alongside the Governor to provide the necessary leadership for the state's development.
