Tinubu Returns from UK, Set to Celebrate Sallah in Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Remi Tinubu returned to Nigeria following an official visit to the United Kingdom. They departed London on Thursday night, March 19, after a two-day historic visit, marking the first time in 37 years that a Nigerian leader has hosted the British monarch at Windsor Castle.

During the visit, President Tinubu and the First Lady were guests of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, where they engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the UK. The visit included a special exhibit viewing related to Nigeria from the royal collection and a private discussion on interfaith dialogue.

Additionally, a state banquet was hosted in their honor, and President Tinubu held a bilateral meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street, which resulted in the signing of various memoranda of understanding, including agreements on trade, investment, defense, and cultural cooperation. The President is expected to observe the upcoming Sallah holiday in Lagos before resuming official duties.
