ADC Chieftain Accuses Tinubu Government of Targeting Opposition

Idris Kalgo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has alleged that the government led by President Bola Tinubu is targeting opposition members while protecting politicians within the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking on Trust TV, Kalgo questioned the rationale behind the selective enforcement of investigations against opposition figures, suggesting a double standard in the political landscape.

He pointed out that ADC members face arrests and investigations, while APC members, including former governor Yahaya Bello, remain unscathed despite various allegations. Kalgo cited the example of Ifeanyi Okowa, who was a running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 elections and switched to the APC without facing any legal consequences.

He expressed concern that this crackdown on ADC members is a strategic move to undermine opposition momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, asserting that the Nigerian populace deserves a voice in governance and democracy should be applied fairly.
