ADC Warns Tinubu Against Undermining Nigeria's Democracy

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu's government regarding actions perceived as undermining democracy in Nigeria. This warning comes amid concerns about the detention and prosecution of prominent opposition figures, including Abdullahi, who highlighted allegations of a broader pattern aimed at weakening the opposition.

The ADC's national publicity secretary expressed that the government's actions threaten the integrity of Nigeria's multiparty democracy. Abdullahi further alleged that there are plans to intimidate and harass politicians who might consider defecting from their parties.

Despite these challenges, he maintained that the ADC enjoys broad support among governors. Additionally, the ADC chairman in Kebbi State, Bala Sufiyanu, insisted that the legal troubles faced by the party would not diminish their resolve to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
