Sunday Igboho Acknowledges Tinubu's Role in His Return to Nigeria After Exile

Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, disclosed that former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu allowed him to return to Nigeria following almost five years in exile. Igboho had earlier expressed his intention to challenge the government of late President Muhammadu Buhari, accusing him of amassing arms and ammunition.

The Department of State Services (DSS) and military personnel had raided Igboho's residence in Ibadan on July 1, 2021, resulting in casualties and arrests. In a statement issued in Ibadan, Igboho thanked traditional rulers and stakeholders in the West for facilitating his return, acknowledging the support of Governors Seyi Makinde, Dapo Abiodun, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ademola Adeleke, Biodun Oyebanji, and Lucky Aiyedatiwa, among others.

He also gave special recognition to the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Olushola Alao.
