Tinubu Commends NADF for Boosting Food Security in Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praised the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) for its significant contributions to improving farmers' access to agricultural inputs and supporting the federal government's food security agenda. In a statement issued from the State House on Thursday, Tinubu highlighted the impact of the Renewed Hope Farm Input Support Programme (RH FISP), which is designed to ensure that agricultural inputs reach smallholder farmers across Nigeria.

The program has successfully distributed 515,720 bags of locally produced fertilizer to 128,930 smallholder farmers in 25 states and the Federal Capital Territory during the ongoing planting season. Tinubu emphasized the federal government's commitment to strengthening local food production, reducing import dependency, and building a resilient agricultural sector capable of withstanding external shocks.

He acknowledged NADF's broader efforts, including promoting modern agricultural practices and providing digital extension services. The administration remains dedicated to improving access to agricultural inputs as a central strategy to increase production and ensure affordable food supply for Nigerians.
