Tinubu Meets Alia, Suswam to Resolve APC Primaries Crisis

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a closed-door meeting with Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia and former Governor Gabriel Suswam at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. This meeting was part of ongoing efforts to resolve the crisis following the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Benue State.

The discussions were aimed at addressing the political tensions that have escalated within the state and the party's national secretariat. The meeting follows the recent release of candidates' names, which notably excluded former Governor Suswam from the senatorial candidacy.

Governor Alia, who is the Secretary of the Federal Government, and Senator George Akume are also involved in the struggle for control of the party's structure in Benue ahead of the 2027 general elections. The meeting is part of Tinubu's efforts to reconcile competing interests and promote unity among the state's political class.
