Tinubu Mourns Former UBA Chairman Israel Ogbue

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed profound sorrow following the death of former United Bank for Africa (UBA) Chairman Israel Ogbue, who passed away at the age of 99. In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commiserated with Ogbue's family, friends, and associates.

He described Ogbue's life as exemplary, highlighting his dedication to service and distinguished career, which included roles in the federal civil service, the National Insurance Corporation (NICON), and as a non-executive director at UBA from 2005 to 2011. Ogbue served as chairman of UBA until 2013.

Tinubu noted Ogbue's dignity, strategic foresight, and principled leadership during a critical phase of the bank's transformation. He acknowledged the numerous tributes that celebrated Ogbue's commitment to family, public service, and faith, and he prayed for peace for the departed elder statesman, asking God to grant comfort and strength to the family.
