Tinubu Pardons Ex-Lawmaker Convicted of Bribery: Hope Ignited

Former Nigerian lawmaker Garouk Lawan, convicted of bribery, expressed gratitude after being granted a presidential pardon by President Bola Tinubu. Lawan was among 175 Nigerians pardoned following Tinubu's recommendation.

Lawan, previously involved in a bribery scandal in 2012, had demanded $3 million from Femi Otedola, leading to his conviction by the Federal Capital Territory High Court. Despite being acquitted of two charges on appeal, one conviction was upheld, resulting in a reduced five-year sentence.
