Tinubu and Obi Endorse Atiku for Presidency, Claims Okonkwo

Kenneth Okonkwo, the spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s 2027 presidential campaign under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), claimed during a recent press briefing that President Bola Tinubu endorsed Atiku for president in the 2007 elections, while Peter Obi endorsed him in the 2019 elections. Okonkwo highlighted that Atiku Abubakar is the only one among the three politicians—Tinubu, Obi, and himself—who has received endorsements from both Tinubu and Obi at different times.

He stated, “Bola Tinubu endorsed Atiku to be president in 2007. Peter Obi endorsed Atiku to be president in 2019.” Okonkwo argued that if both Tinubu and Obi believe Atiku is the best candidate, it raises the question of what others are looking for in a leader.
